The Athenian
The Story of the Athenian at Christ Episcopal School
In the first nascent years of the high school at Christ Episcopal, developed from the high-aspiring junior high school body at the time and its leaders, many brand new areas of intellectual development were fostered. One former student, in collaboration with the new principal, realized the vision of a literary magazine for the school, which was given the name The Athenian.
The Athenian quickly became symbolic for the school as one of the notable works that marked the inception of the high school identity. It was a symbol for the pursuit of literary excellence, for those young adults who don't simply treat literature as an academic subject to study rotely, but as a part of their lives, a concentration that helps them connect with meaning in the world.
